Abstract
  • This research followed the USAF's view that mentoring takes place in the core group discussions between the supervisor and subordinate. One hypothesis of this research was that there was a relationship between the level of risk and the level of trust which are contributing factors empowering Airmen. The second hypothesis was that there was a relationship between the level of respect and the level of leadership which are contributing factors empowering Airmen. The qualitative results reveal that level of leadership has a greater impact on core group discussions than does the level of risk, trust or respect.
