Abstract
  • This project is the writer's effort to encourage prayer in the homes of members using the Book of Common Prayer. The Episcopal Church has encouraged its members to pray, but usually has not done much to teach and show them 'how' to do this. Using this uniquely Anglican book as a guide and starting point, the writer will prepare a booklet to explain the use of the Book of Common Prayer in the home setting, and will teach a series of classes enabling the class to be familiar with the nonsacramental portions of the Book of Common Prayer. A copy of this booklet will be in the appendix of the project report and the booklet should enable the reader to use the Book of Common Prayer for personal or family devotions without having attended the writer's classes. This project should enable the people of St Paul's Episcopal Church to be a praying church at their altar on Sunday and in their homes during the week.
