- Abstract
- This project equipped Baby Boomers at First Baptist Church of Augusta, Georgia, for their third age (their 'retirement years') and encouraged them to use these years for missions and ministry. Utilizing an approved bibliography and a survey of church members over 65, the director researched how Baby Boomers will live into their retirement as opposed to how Builders lived into theirs and developed a seminar that consisted of six ninety-minute sessions. Participants examined the dynamics of retirement and developed a future story that incorporated missions and ministry. Sessions included pertinent scripture, work sheets, questionnaires, PowerPoint presentations, discussion groups, and individual reflection. A user-friendly equipping module packaged all seminar materials into one CD-ROM enabling easy distribution to leaders of other churches.
