Abstract
  • The purpose of this ministry project was to raise the significance of baptism within the lives of members of the Cinco Baptist Church. Baptism is defined in chapter 1 as a public vow of submission to Christ. A pre-test and post-test was given to a control group to measure growth in their knowledge of baptism and level of commitment because of the claims of baptism. Chapter 2 focuses on the historical, biblical, and theological aspects of baptism. Attention was given to current trends within the Southern Baptist Convention. Chapter 3 describes the preparation of the church, including a sermon series and a testimony service. Chapter 4 describes the seminar on baptism. The seminar contained 12 sessions and was developed from the research material of chapter 2. Chapter 5 is an evaluation of the project.
