Abstrakt

The purpose of the dissertation is to explore the paths or disciplines in pastoral counseling which help the clients to re-orient their spiritual journey so to grow holistically. Library research together with the integration of the author's past ministerial experience in different churches and seminaries would be the core resources and methodology of writing this dissertation. Contemporary researches in the theories, principles and techniques of using scripture, prayer and journal writing that are greatly employed in pastoral counseling to facilitate the growth of clients' spirituality would be the main content of this dissertation. Hopefully, the dissertation can shed light about the therapeutic importance and approaches of spiritual guidance in the pastoral counseling that can enhance the growth of spirituality.
