Abstract
  • This research project seeks to develop a biblically and theologically sound, as well as a culturally effective approach for the church to impact subdivisions. Ch.1 introduces the purpose and goals of the project. It further acquaints the reader with the context of the ministry research project. Ch.2 is the biblical and theological base of the project. Specifically the chapter examines the people of God as a kingdom of priests, the power of the Holy Spirit in evangelicalism, the implications of spiritual gifts in doing evangelism, and a strategy for doing evangelism. Ch.3 begins with a survey of some past and current methods employed by Southern Baptists in doing evangelism before undertaking a study of the people a church is trying to reach. The last section of ch.3 explores how a church might effectively reach secular people. Ch.4 is the report of the project telling how a church sought to impact the lives of people, but that it is gifted to do the task. It was learned in this research that methodology in reaching people with the gospel is not as important as intent.
