Abstract
  • St. Alma Baptist Church's appreciation of biblical preaching was one of style rather than substance. Many of the congregrants were not motivated to change behavior. The project director contends that lives will be changed when the hearers understand what biblical preaching is, what to look for in the text, and when they adopt the attitude and action of the text. This project identifies ways to motivate the hearer to adopt the action and attitude of the text utilizing standard research practices. The ministry project included the preaching of eight consecutive sermons and the planning, development, and facilitation of ten seminars.
