  • The purpose of this project was to equip the leaders of Barton Baptist Church of Lucedale, Mississippi in conflict resolution skills. Seven one hour and fifteen-minute sessions were designed, in which ten leaders took part. The training sessions addressed the following issues: understanding the emotional system of the church, positioning leaders to address conflict, analysis of the conflict through the five levels of conflict, analysis of the conflict through roles and communication study, communication skills, dealing with the problematic, and specific skills training for resolution of conflict. The professional goals of this project included increasing the project director's knowledge in the field of conflict resolution, enhancing the project director's skills in curriculum design, and developing the project director's skills in teaching.
