Abstract
  • It is the author's contention that coaching can be used by the Holy Spirit to help a plateaued or declining church that desires to re-engage in its missional call. Coaching is about creating a supportive relationship that encourages intentional action, forward movement and improved and sustained performance. Three churches in the Portland/Vancouver area served as the focus for this experimental research project. Readers will acquire a working definition of coaching, a review of its biblical support, and be introduced to the contribution it can make to the church and its missional assignment.
