Abstract
  • This project proposes that the biblical witness of God's 'unconditional love'--defined as 'mutual submission'--is a foundation for Christian ministry. The work and identity of Jesus as prophet, priest, and king becomes a model for the neighborhood congregation as it reaches out and seeks to understand and minister to its context. The project critically examines congregational responses to God's love and their implications for ministry, laying the groundwork for congregations to begin the task of outreach.
