Abstracto

A model of pastoral care was constructed that will inform, through implications, the conceptualization of the nature, purpose, and meaning of pastoral care to geriatric persons residing in mental hospitals for a recognition and release of their potential in spite of their limitations. Exploratory research and theological correlation procedures were employed. The project conceptualizes how liberation ministry can best serve the needs of the estranged person in this church. The model for pastoral care in the institutional geriatric church represents theory building. Therefore, the model is provisional pending further study for usage in other churches.
