Abstract
  • How can Lutheran congregations and pastors, without abandoning their liturgical link with the Church of all ages, make their worship services easier for guests without a liturgical background to participate? First, this study establishes the essence of Lutheran liturgical worship. Next, it examines how the Lutheran Reformers responded to needs for changes in worship. How are pastors today attempting to resolve the issue? How do we evaluate these endeavours? One resolution on which this project focuses is to adapt the principle of Luther's Deutsche Messe, but using more culturally appropriate hymn settings as liturgy.
