Abstracto

In the way toward a Vietnamese theology in general and a theology of Christian education in Vietnam in particular, this study discusses the dynamic relation between the gospel and the culture. In critically evaluating the Vietnamese cultural characteristics, the writer points out how elements of the Vietnamese cultural heritage can further an understanding of the Christian faith and can be used as resources for theology so that the gospel becomes really relevant to Vietnamese people; at the same time, some negative aspects of the culture need to be transformed to become appropriate to the authentic message of the gospel.
