- Abstract
- This project was designed to explore how to position small group leaders in a local church to make a paradigm shift from merely serving to both intentionally serving and equipping their groups, thus creating a vibrant and ready church culture that responds effectively to Jesus' Great Commission. Entailed in the project were four courses taught over an 18-week period (e.g., Wholeness and Healing, New Testament Church Leadership), concurrent hands-on ministries, and mentoring relationships. One goal was to evaluate candidate shifts in Christ-formation and ministry functions within their respective groups. One conclusion is the paradigm shift is necessary, and requires a system to be in place for effective serving and leading.
