- The purpose of this ministry research project was to target the unchurched for Christ and develop a leadership base from attender-only congregants of Coastal Community Church using short-term teams. Chapter one lays the foundation for the project. Attention is given to background information on the new church, goals, definitions and limitations of the project. Chapter two examine the team concept from a biblical perspective. An analysis of Nehemiah's and Jesus' teambuilding principles is included. Chapter three investigates principles for managing teams from the perspective of the business world. This research includes information on team leadership, recruiting, and training. Chapter four summarizes the implementation of the outreach project at Coastal Community Church. Details for developing this event in other churches are included. Chapter five evaluates the project's goals, reviews its strengths and weaknesses, and provides a summary of lessons learned.
