- Abstract
- 'The Spirit of Unity Amidst Diversity' was designed to identify practices of vital intercultural ministry in the Twin Cities and to evaluate whether exercises in intercultural competence and narrative leadership enable a recently merged, diverse congregation to strengthen relationships and discern core values. The author interviewed 14 leaders of diverse congregations in the Twin Cities. The author also used exercises in intercultural competence in three congregational gatherings and interviewed 20 members of the congregation. The author identified seven practices for vital intercultural ministry and affirmed that narrative and intercultural exercises enable a congregation to strengthen relationships and discern core values.
