Abstract
  • The purpose of this project is to enhance the spiritual nurture of children at First Baptist Church, Grants, NM. The purpose was achieved by training parents in both cognitive and behavioral skills. The project was conducted in light of the following assumptions: 1) children need guidance; 2) the most effective teachers for children are parents; 3) the best time to learn is childhood; and 4) the natural environment for learning is the home. The project was developed in cooperation with couples whose children were ages birth through early adolescence. A curriculum was developed for use in training the parents.
