Abstract
  • This project aims at applying Methodist doctrine to sermons by 'practicing doctrinal sermons.' Wesley spread Methodist doctrines through sermons, and asked early Methodist preachers to preach according to Methodist doctrines. Nowadays, preaching doctrinal sermons as a Methodist preacher can be a way of reviving the spirit of the early Methodist church. Doctrinal sermons have the advantage of reducing rejection on the part of church members toward doctrinal instruction and making it possible to teach doctrine to church members continually. Also, they consist of an evangelical message that can apply doctrine to faith and life of church members.
