- Abstract
- This project was designed to begin the transition from committees to teams at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Kilgore, Texas. Five steps were taken to begin the transition. A handbook was developed to guide teams. A small group experience was used to expose team leaders to the handbook and model the team concept. A one day workshop was given for team members. A sermon was delivered to the congregation to encourage a positive organizational climate. Some team maintenance activities were employed. Results of the model were evaluated and show that participants grew in their understanding of team concepts.
