The purpose of this project was to equip deacons of Moundville Baptsist Church, Moundville, Alabama, with reseach in the field of deacon ministry and in those specific required skills unique to the office of deacon. From the research, the project director provided the substance used to create a five-session seminar to equip select deacons. The project director utilized various methodologies of instruction such as the 'Think-Pair-Share Strategy', a signed civenant/commitment card, and role-play so that the participants would achieve optimal learning. Experts in the field of instruction and deacon ministry provided evaluation to the project director in order to ensure completion of the stated project and professional goals. The project director presented the essential deacon ministry skills curriculum during a Friday through Saturday retreat.
