Abstrakt

This project advocates the use of story as a means in evangelism in multi-cultural Hawai'i. It bases its argument on cultural factors, biblical history and narrative theology. The study includes these components: 1) understanding evangelism; 2) a biblical perspective on evangelism; 3) building a case for the use of story; 4) story and Hawai'i's multi-cultural people; 5) evangelism approaches in Hawai'i; 6) story: a new paradigm for evangelism; and 7) talk-story evangelism: a practical evangelism approach for Hawai'i. Talk-story is found to be an effective and culturally sensitive style of evangelism in a variety of cultural settings.
