Abstract
  • This project explores, historically and theologically, British and American Baptist missions to Buddhists in Myanmar (Burma), in order to propose new methods for continuing Baptist missions in the twenty-first century. Based on research in the American Baptist archives and a survey of Myanmar Baptist Convention missions, supplemented by Roman Catholic mission resources and contemporary theological literature, the project concludes that community development, contextualization, and Christian-Buddhist dialogue are relevant methods for future missions to Buddhists in Burma.
