Abstract
  • The study brings together the concerns of Generation X, the Christological images of the Christian church, and the practices of the suburban church. The thesis of this study is that Generation X's self-understanding as marginalized and the resultant postmodern questions of their generation are addressed most clearly by the practice of faith within a local faith community. The practice of faith demonstrated by Latin American liberation theology and North American feminist theology in worship, education and administration can provide a model for local church practice. Guidelines for local churches were developed based on the research.
