- Abstract
- Altough Christians in mainland China have undergone numerous severe persecutions in the second half of the 20th century, the number of believers is miraculously growing. However, very few church workers have opportunity to receive formal teaching about the truth of the gospel. As a result, the foundation of the faith of the believers becomes terribly weak and unstable. The goal of this project is to teach church workers in China the basic truth of the gospel in a Chinese context for personal evangelism. It will seek to contextualize the truth of the gospel with the unique characteristics of ancient Chinese written characters, which amazingly contain the stories of the gospel. Church workers will learn the knowledge and skills of utilizing a figurative and factual way to share the gospel with Chinese-contextualized messages. Through this evangelistically contextualized approach, vast numbers of Chinese people will be able to understand the gospel and be willing to accept it.
