The purpose of this project was to equip selected deacons of Eastern Shore Baptist Church in Daphne, Alabama, in congregational care skills. This project followed the equipping program model. The project director conducted biblical research and developed materials to train a group of deacons to assist the pastoral staff in selected components of congregational care. At the conclusion of the training, the group can identify the biblical rationale for their participation in congregational care ministry; demonstrate the assimilation of the knowledge gained in the equipping sessions for use in ministry; and are challenged to begin the task of congregational care ministry.
