Abstract
  • The author has worked at the Han Maum church in Gyounggido as a senior pastor for three years. His congregation is made up of soldiers who are twenty to twenty-two and do not like the army life. However, the soldiers encounter religions by choice in the military service. Many soldiers come into contact with Christianity. The author has thought about what these young soldiers want in their own spiritual lives and how the military church can help them. The author therefore asked the following questions regarding military mission in the light of pastoral care: (1) What is the meaning of military service for men, and what is the meaning of the period of military service in the life cycle? (2) What is the soldiers' life before enrollment in military service, and what do they think of their lives after their service is completed? Based on the questions above, the author researched the soldiers' change in their spiritual life, the improvement of their relationship, and their feeling about self-identity through Bible study and religious counseling.
