Abstract
  • The project is a description, comparison, and contrast of three methods of pastoral care. These include: the directive style of the Word where the primary resource person is Eduard Thurneysen; the nondirective style of acceptance and relationship where the primary resource person is Carl Rogers; and the hermeneutical/narrative style where the primary resource persons are Donald Capps, Charles Gerkin, and Charles Winquist. Six case studies are represented in which the hermeneutical/narrative style is put into practice. The pastoral method in each case study is evaluated. The conclusion dicusses the relationships, method, and implications.
