Abstract
  • Traditional youth ministry does not target parents. This study argues that, in our present society, the church must provide educational resources and support for parents in order to empower them to equip teens to make life enhancing decisions. The method involved serious dialogue with parents of youth as they identified specific challenges, inadequacies and fears, as well as their desires to end their isolation. The result was to design and institutionalize an on-going training program of resources and support for parents of teens, so that the future 'youth program' of the church will incorporate both youth and parents.
