- Subtitle: An analysis of the relation of pre-modern, modern, and post-modern paradigms of faith and the practice of prayer. Project director: Douglas E Brown, Jr. Understanding the types of paradigms with which individuals view the world should contribute the effectiveness of Christian ministers in Holland. This research enables ministers to recognize, in historical context, the various paradigms of reality with which Western believers interpret life experiences. Such insight calls ministers to make at least three decisions as they try to mentor spiritual formation: which type of paradigm do ministers themselves use to interpret life? how should they assist believers whose spiritual stability is threatened by difficulty with their paradigms of faith? how should they promote harmony among believers who have varying paradigms of reality?
