Abstract
  • The purpose of this dissertation/project is to identify a process by which a person, or a community, can minister to a corporate entity for the sake of bringing health and wholeness to that entity. In the language of the Pauline epistles, it is the call to the church to speak to the powers and principalities of the world. The author has brought forth the story of the massacre at Indian Island, an island within the city of Eureka, California, that happened on February 26, 1860. The author's intent was to bring forward public events of a spiritual nature that addressed remembrance, contrition and forgiveness. The dissertation outlines the process of discernment of the soul of Eureka, the concept of the call to speak to it and the specific process that was employed in doing so.
