Abstract
  • The project included a training program to enable church members to minister in hospitality to visitors. Hospitality, defined as a gracious openness toward church guests, was revealed as a major biblical theme. The program included questionnaires to members, visitors, pastors, and special visitors who documented their experience of welcome. The project's core was a workshop followed by project actions seeking to maximize the visitor's sense of welcome. Focused interviews of participants assessed their growth. Comparison of guests' response before and after the workshop reflected a measurable increase in their perception of welcome over those who had visited before.
