Abstract
  • The job of preachers is to help people in their relationships with God. The focus of preaching is to relate people to God. When the focus of the church is on the spiritual growth of the people, the church will move towards wholeness in Christ. A typology of four spiritual types--rationalist, heart, mystic and kingdom builder--guided the preaching. Sermons were focused on reaching each spiritual type. Individuals of that spiritual type evaluated the sermons. Spiritual preaching has strengthened the spirituality of the communities of faith as they face the struggles and changes of life with trust in God.
