  • This research project uses the case study approach to explore the principles of church planting and verifies the principles with actual church planting. Based on the theological foundation of church planting provided by the Bible and the background of Chinese immigrants in the Greater Vancouver region, the purpose of this research is to explore the principles and methods of church planting I the Greater Vancouver region. Chapter one discusses the biblical basis of church planting, including God's plan for salvation, the mission of Jesus Christ, and the work of the Holy Spirit. Chapter two explores the different facets of church planting. Chapter three introduces the history, background, and social aspects of Chinese immigration in the Greater Vancouver region. Chapter four investigates the process of church planting for three representative churches. Chapter five uses the Evangelical Formosan Church of Greater Vancouver as an example of church planting to analyze the present situation and future direction of church planting in the Greater Vancouver region. Chapter six deals with the actual process of church planting. Chapter seven analyzes the distribution of Chinese churches from the statistical data of the Chinese population in the Greater Vancouver region. This research can serve as a guide for future church planting in the region.
