Abstract
  • Natural disasters find many congregations unprepared to deal with the emotional and spiritual needs of survivors. This project focuses on how storytelling helps storm victims remember the past in order to live into a hopeful future. Using survivor narratives from the May 22, 2011 tornado in Joplin, Missouri, this report explores how victims look at natural disasters and God's movement in the destruction, recovery, and restoration.
