Abstract
  • The project attempts to develop a lay pastoral care team functioning in the context of adult Bible fellowships. The senior pastor chose a team of five laypersons to help design an eight-week course based around a manual/workbook. Included is a theological study based on the biblical model of shepherding. It also contains the social change theory needed to assist the congregants to accept a lay-pastoral care paradigm. The pre- and post-training evaluation of the course by the students showed an increase in knowledge and skills; however, the eight sessions should be lengthened to ten to twelve to adequately cover the material.
