Abstract
  • The purpose of the project was to develop and implement an effective weekly visitation program at Eastwood Baptist Church (Monroeville, Alabama). The project consisted of training for a telephone committee which would make appointments for visitation and visitation teams which would make the visits and report back to the church. A unique element of the project was the inclusion of communication skills in the training adapted from secular sales strategies. Procedures and forms were developed which aided in the structure of the visitation program. Descriptive survey methodologies were used in the evaluation of the project. Significant improvement was recorded in the skills of the committee members and in the results of the visitation program.
