Abstract
  • The project has two foci: pastoral care in transition and the particular cause of that transition, the call process of the Lutheran Church of Australia. Three methods are used to discover the pastoral care issues: 1. a start-up instrument from the American Lutheran Church; 2. an emotional response record; and 3. a case study. The project results in the development of a revised call process. This process makes provision for structured pastoral care occasions for all the actors in the call process: the pastor and family who are leaving, the congregation(s), and the pastor and family who are coming.
