Abstract
  • In the twenty-first century, there are a significant number of church-goers who are educated and well-informed in their respective professions, but whose limited knowledge of the Bible precludes their ability to be conversant with it as it relates to everyday life, current issues and Christian theology. It is my belief that it is possible to speak a redemptive biblical word from the pulpit that is informative, insightful, inspirational, and relevant to the lives of those who are sitting in church pews. This can be done creatively with scholarly exegesis, imagery, narrative, and story in such a way that inspires Christian faith, and enhances the capacity to intelligently connect biblical truths with current issues and personal faith.
