Abstract
  • This project examines variables influencing a congregation's sense of vision using Chalmers United Church (1908- ), Windsor, Ontario, Canada, as a case study. The project focuses on the biblical concept of vision. Jesus' vision of the Kingdom of God and his use of parables provide a model for visioning. Significant changes in the larger environment affecting the community and the congregation's response to these movements are analyzed. The project focuses on congregational authority in terms of Scripture and leadership. The project identifies congregational needs, strengths, limitations, challenges, possibilities, and signs of hope. The conclusion lists nine future possible formulations.
