  • This project is the wedding of the spiritual and natural as it pertains to the wholeness of the African American. The author has seen in some African American adults a quiet resignation when it comes to health issues; they have succumbed to illness that if diagnosed early could have been averted. Then, there are those who because of decline in strength and health are still able to make valuable contributions to society. These persons did not allow their physical disability to disable them. Somehow they knew that their wholeness was more than their physical being -- but a combination of their spirit, soul and body.
