Abstrakt

This project equipped the board of elders of Kentwood Community Church to submit a proposal for changing membership requirements in the Wesleyan Church. This proposal recommends maintaining requirements which are directly scriptural, and moving present requirements which are mostly historical, social and cultural in origin to the category of special directions (admonitions not required for membership). The methodological approach involved equipping the elders through training sessions. The proposal for change generated by the elders was viewed by them to be in harmony with the ecclesiology, soteriology and approach to the authority of Scripture held by the Wesleyan Church.
