- Abstract
- The researcher assessed the church leadership's knowledge of culture (shared beliefs, values and practices) and language (a system of communication) at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia. The data triangulation methodology included surveys, interviews, and audio/videotape recordings. The researcher discovered that, while a majority had an awareness of the congregation's culture and language, only 40% surveyed understood how culture and language applied to their roles as church leaders. The researcher concluded that additional research would be required in order to fully investigate the complexity of culture and language.
