Abstract
  • This thesis-project is a training course for teaching rural pastors in China the skill of expository preaching. The task consists of four components. First, to research and to formulate eight core biblical convictions that are essential for the task of expository preaching. Second, to research China and its culture, the Chinese mindset, and the house church movement. It also looks into the learning process of the rural people and the training resources in preaching. Third, to design a biblical preaching course targeting Chinese rural pastors who have a lower level of education. The training material is adapted from Dr. Haddon W. Robinson's step-by-step process as described in his book, Biblical Preaching. Fourth, to field test this training course with over thirty rural pastors for forty hours in November 2007 in China.
