Abstract
  • This project sought to educate persons in the Parkview Baptist Church (Tulsa, Oklahoma) about the controversy which has rocked the Southern Baptist Convention from the years 1979 to 1990. By 'educate' the author means informing people by examining both the theological and political perspectives of those in the Southern Baptist Convention who are identified as 'fundamentalist-conservatives' and 'moderate-conservatives.' By means of this informational process, the author sought to present a balanced overview of the controversy which would enable the participants to draw their own conclusions of the subject. Special guests in this forum were Gene Garrison and Warren Hultgren.
