Abstrakt

The purpose of this project is to equip select members of Heritage Heights Baptist Church in Laurel, Mississippi, to become pastoral caregivers to the victims of domestic violence. To equip the pastoral caregivers, a workshop will be held at Heritage Heights Baptist Church in May of 2007. The workshop will consist of five separate training sessions. Each session will last two hours for a total of ten hours of instruction and training. The goals of this project are (1) to research the issue of domestic violence, (2) to research pastoral caregiving techniques, and (3) to develop a pastoral caregivers' workshop to equip a select group of persons at Heritage Heights Baptist Church, Laurel, Mississippi, in the art of providing pastoral care and of becoming pastoral caregivers to the victims of domestic violence.
