Abstract
  • Ministry is the responsibility of all believers. With this thesis Ronald H Sunderland provides a simple format for equipping the laity for pastoral ministry. This project evaluates and tests Sunderland's program in the setting of a US Army community chapel overseas. A careful examination of the biblical basis for lay ministry is highlighted by literature in the field. The transient military congregation and the specifics of how the Sunderland model is adopted to it are discussed. Implications for chaplain usage are considered through three questionnaires. Appendixes include Sunderland's narrative materials for leader and student.
