Abstract
  • The project reflects a concern that congregations develop effective means to minister to couples who have begun a marital relationship and are engaged in the struggle to maintain it. The model is a synthesis of Christian theological and dynamic interpersonal psychological perspectives. Called 'Covenant Partnership,' the model is shaped by the values of love, justice and mutuality. The model was used in two seminars for couples over a ten-week period. Participants reported the model provided clarity and a helpful focus for their marital relationship and stimulated both self-evaluation and change.
