  • The purpose of the project was to enhance the project director's preaching skills to be more effective in doctrinal preaching to young adults. Development of the project included the preparation and delivery of doctrinal sermons and the utilization of young adults within the congregation, ages 20 to 39, as recipients and resources to provide sermon analysis. The project director utilized the ministry-skill enhancement model. Six doctrinal surveys were completed by the participants prior to a six-part doctrinal sermon series. The comparison of the surveys with the feedback provided by the recipients and two mentors indicate the positive effects of doctrinal preaching on young adults as well as the enhancement of the project director's doctrinal preaching skills.
