  • 'To pray the Bible: a study of the General Intercessions with an edition for Sundays and Holy Days of the 'Lectionary for Mass' based on assigned scripture texts of the day' reviews the development and the decline of the General Intercessions in the Christian eucharist of the Roman Catholic tradition in the West and evaluates the success of the restoration which was called for by the Second Vatican Council. It provides an edition of General Intercessions suitable for use during the celebration of the eucharist. Upon the thesis that the Intercessions are a response to the proclamation of the word in the assembly, the Intercessions of this edition are drawn upon biblical texts of the day. A series of intercessions is given for each Sunday and Holy Day of the three year lectionary cycle in common use in Christian denominations.
