  • Ashland Seminary's core values include academic excellence, community, scripture and spiritual formation. Of the four core values it seems that community has been the most difficult to apply. Faculty, staff, and administration are inundated with schedules, assignments and time restraints that make it challenging to pursue community life; among each other as well as the community at large which includes the student body. The project focused on the work of an international small group whose purpose was to enhance community life at the seminary. The group met with two goals in mind: to practice the characteristics of community among one another, and then to apply these same characteristics with the community at large.
